Chip Ganassi Racing kørerne Scott Dixon og Dario Franchitti blev i IndyCar Series deltagernes 1 fri træning på Homestead ovalen ved Miami i Florida skilt af Ryan Briscoe fra Team Penske på de øverste pladser på resultatlisten. Det var utrolig tættte tider de tre kørere præsterede, Scott Dixon var henholdsvis 0,022 og 0,030 sekund hurtigere end Ryan Briscoe og Dario Franchitti på 2. og 3. pladserne.
